Frequently Asked Questions
-
Turnaround time generally 2 weeks from the moment of receiving your shoes.
In busy times can take a little longer. -
No, it is simply not possible:
-Toe Caps Repair means that I will have to remove first the soles, then fix the foremost damaged area of the rand rubber and replace with new rand rubber. Only after this I can add a new sole.
-Full Rand Repair means that I will have to remove first the soles, then remove the whole rand and replace it with a new one before adding a new sole.
-
Very short explanation:
-Removing the old soles
-If necessary fix toe caps or full rands
-Replacing with new sole rubber
The rubber on the bottom of the shoe (The Sole) and the rubber that goes around the front of the shoe (The Rand) can wear down over time with repeated climbing. If you pay attention and check regularly you can save and extend the life of your shoes, instead of throwing the whole pair of shoes in the trash.
When you are on time, they will be as good-as-new for a fraction of the cost of buying a new pair! Even better, you don't have to go through the painful process of breaking in a new pair of shoes all over again.
If you notice your shoes becoming worn, it might be time for a resole and if you are in time it can be quite cheap.

The Rand is the strip of thin rubber that wraps all around the front sides of your shoes and protects and keeps the tension and shape of the shoe and your toes “nicely” squeezed in the toe box .
TOE CAPS REPAIR
If the rand of your shoe is worn down at the front, run thinner or you have a small hole in the rubber at the “nose part”, your shoes can be fixed.
In this case I will not remove the whole rand rubber but just a smaller part at the front (this is called a TOE CAP repair) and fix it with some new rubber before placing a new sole.
FULL RAND REPAIR
If the rand of your shoe is worn down too far in multiple spots, cracking, have side damages, or shoes have been resoled multiple times already, then the whole rand need replacement (this is called a FULL RAND repair) .

Yes is very appreciated when you clean your shoes before bringing/sending them in.
Basic amount of chalk is not a big issue however, I work manually and in close contact with your shoes. If your shoes have stained of blood, have heavy amount of dirt, mud or mold on them, or simply they are heavy in sweat and stink very bad please give them a clean.
Basically if you can not stand the smell of your shoes, wash them ;) -
No
Like everyone else you need your shoes back as soon as possible and I will do my best to fix your shoes as fast as possible but I will not make other people wait longer.
Just make sure you check your shoes regularly and send them in time. -
Yes but be aware, it is NOT guaranteed they can be fixed.
Depending on many factors as:
- how many times they have been already resoled
- how good or bad have they been resoled before
- how old the shoes are
-how do you care for your shoes
-conditions of the inner fabric of the shoes
- is the fabric too old, rotten or cracking and falling apart
Than there's nothing I can do.With pre-resoled shoes is possible to know if they are fixable only after removing the old repair. Be aware there is a risk you loose the pair if the previous damage is too big.
If you are doubting you can still send/bring them and I will see what can be done or if they are too far gone for a repair.
